»The long (After the Rape Case)«

by Mashell Chapeyama

The journey has just started
Of the head aching at its apex,
Eyes itching from hotness of blood-
Blood coursing inside me.
But why can't unwrap these pains
Translocating them to a tree on the yard's edge
Otherwise I remain a person?
Why can't dish out these feelings
From inside me, that they flow into ant-burrowed waterways
Within the earth? I won't bother reclaim them:
The hurtful feeling of being raped by a dad,
A brother, an in-law, unwillingly chosen
Sacrificed from the rest
Like a sheep to a slaughter house.
These feelings I won't bother reclaim forever.
