»Summer o' 2007«

by Lukhanyo Elvis Makhenyane, July 27, 2009

It's a cold summer!
Bright morning star
But no bigger star
It sets before it rises
It's a cold summer without you!

I thought it would pour
To bring up beautiful flowers
But it drizzled
Only to bring chills and shivers
It's a cold summer without you!

Grey skies is all I see
Brown grass is all I behold
Chapped hands and cracked feet
Am I in Europe?
No! In my place, in my heart,
But devoid of you.
Indeed this summer is cold
And you are gone forever.
