»Cry thy tears Africa.«

by Brendon Tawanda Takarinda, August 22, 2017

Abandoned unity, forgotten trust- all
our brothers are living for lust.
But alas Africa mourns for the
precious gifts and marvelous wisdom
given to our forefathers which they showed
us with much affection.
We have been lead astray, Africa mourns
for we have neglected our own. Africans
have blood on their hands, sadly black on black
violence has prevailed.
African women once praised for their abstinence,
sell their souls and virginities like cheap merchandise
sold at a local market.
Were did we go wrong, oh Africa hear my plea.
Set us free Africa, pour your sweet gentle rains
to wash away our evil ways.
Cry thy tears away until they are no more.
Oh mother Africa cry thy tears away.
