»Barriers«

by Lawrence Mathebula, April 8, 2021

We percieve them as they
be
Until we go beyond them;
The subjective, then we
see,
When we do not think
within them.

Whether visionary or
traditional,
Such structures we break
By the new-fangled with
rivals,
From cages weld, we
break!

Until the die-hard we
disband;
And (like we should)
humanity move to next
Laps of change but not the
end
Of evolution, but the next

And there not to wait but
grow
A multitude, with we live
Behind broader suns we
follow,
Larger the lamp, with
brightness to live!"
