»I sat at your bedside.«

by Louise Isaac, June 19, 2022

I sat at your bedside,
my heart was crushed and sore,
but I did my duty to thee end,
til I could do no more.
Holding back tears I watched you sinking, watching you fade away.
And although my
heart was breaking,
I knew you could not stay.
You left behind some aching hearts that loved you most sincere…
we never shall
and never will,
forget you,
Father dear.

Some days I don’t like my reflection, / or the colour of my hair, / I don’t like what the scales say / and I can’t find anything to wear. / Some days I get too quiet / and no words will leave my mouth. / When my world feels like it’s ending / and my life is going south. / When days feel like their  sign in to read more »
