»Someone Talking To No One«

by Christopher Kudyahakudadirwe, November 19, 2008

I'm talking to those without ears
Showing things to those without eyes
That the writing is on the walls
Of the house of stone.*

I'm running with the amputees
Struggling with them to stand
On the barren threshold
Of the house of stone.

My full stomach rumbles
With those of the starved & hungry
The thirsty & the unclothed
Of the house of stone.

I'm hiding behind the tortured
Screaming & wailing with the bereaved
Whose kith & kin have been murdered
In the house of stone.

Am I listening to someone
Talking to no one right here
Revealing all the hidden truths
In the house of stone?

* refers to Zimbabwe
